In a diesel engine, the camshaft regulates the timing of valve opening and closure, managing the intake of fresh air and the release of exhaust. In more recent designs, it also coordinates the timing and function of fuel injectors, influencing overall engine performance.

CYLINDER LINERS

WET LINERS
Machining is not required when rebuilding a diesel engine that uses wet liners. Although it requires simple “slip fit” installation, liner protrusion is critical and careful measuring of this protrusion is required. Our wet liners are manufactured for faster break-in and durability.

DRY LINERS / REPAIR SLEEVES
We provide several types, including flanged dry liners, interference-fit dry liners, and repair sleeves.

DAMPERS

Vibration dampers reduce the torsional vibrations from the crankshaft as the engine turns it. This vibration is unwanted as it causes excessive stress on the crankshaft, resulting in its breakage, which, in time, will also affect the engine itself. TGS vibration dampers will keep the crankshaft rotating smoothly, eliminating the risk of engine failure.

Dampers will help reduce:

DRY LINER SLEEVES

TGS dry liners and sleeves are assembled from the highest quality components. They have a roll-burnished radius under the flange to prevent fractures and a precise cross-hatch bore finish for proper ring seating. Liners receive heat treatment to ensure strength and durability.

ENGINE BEARINGS

The tri-metal bearings are steel back bearings made of copper alloy, lead and tin with a nickel dam and finished with an electroplated Babbitt surface layer.

The alloy bearings has a higher load carrying capacity than aluminum or other copper/lead alloy bearings. Tri-metal bearings can withstand up to 60% higher loads.

Our forged steel cranks are cost effective and strong. With new forging and machining technologies, TGS offers some of the best crankshafts available on the market today. All our crankshafts are forged steel, core hardened and tempered to reduce stress and optimize tensile strength. Our new cylinder heads for C6.4 excavator engines feature improved castings and are available completely assembled with all new parts. They are available in two configurations: a stock replacement bare head and a completely assembled head. Our premium assembled cylinder heads include valves, valve springs, premium valve stem seals, and retainers, making them perfect replacements for your old cylinder head.

CYLINDER HEAD OVERHAUL PARTS

Our complete cylinder head overhaul kits include all the necessary parts & components to overhaul a 223-9250, 263-5055 & 183-5296 truck cylinder head back to new condition. BELTS

Heavy-duty equipment engines operate using multiple belts, called V-belts. These belts run off the engine’s crankshaft pulley to drive multiple peripheral devices such as the alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pumps, air compressor pump, and water pumps. Our V-belts are engineered to run maintenance-free, keeping your equipment operating without the need for re-tensioning.

ENGINE OIL FILLER CAPS

Do not risk engine damage from debris entering your engine through the oil cap. TGS oil filling caps create a positive seal that cannot be bounced or jarred loose. Our tight seal locks out moisture, dirt, rust, and other damaging contaminants.

Engine valves are one of the engine’s most critical components. They must withstand extreme temperatures, pressures, hitting impacts, and loads during their lifetime. Because the operating temperatures of intake and exhaust valves are highly different, different materials, structures, and manufacturing methods are required and implemented for each type of valve.

ENGINE GEARS

TGS engine gears are built from high-grade steel and fabricated to the highest standards. They perform in the most demanding applications and environments, including marine, industrial, and off-highway applications. Gears on diesel engines synchronise the crankshaft and camshaft and, in some applications, the fuel injection pump. In addition, diesel engines use various gears to transfer motion to other components like water pumps, power take-offs, hydraulic pumps, and flywheel ring gears for engine starting.

TGS Liner & Piston kits are assembled from the highest quality components. Our Wet Liners have a proprietary oxide coating to reduce cavitation, a roll burnished radius to prevent flange fractures and precise cross hatch bore finish for proper ring seating. Liners receive heat treatment to ensure strength and durability. TGS liner kits include premium pistons, piston rings, piston pin, pin retainers, liner seals and wet liners.

PISTON KITS

Pistons are the hardest-working components inside a diesel engine. They must transform the energy of the combustion-expanding gases into mechanical energy. Diesel engines must operate at much higher pressures and temperatures, which places much more strain on the pistons.

PULLEYS

There are four types of engine pulleys: crank pulleys, accessory pulleys, idler pulleys, and tensioner pulleys. The crank pulley is the drive pulley attached to the crankshaft. Accessory pulleys are attached to alternators, air pumps, etc. Idler pulleys spin freely and are not connected to any accessories or the crankshaft. They simply aid in maintaining the configuration of the belt’s path. Tensioner pulleys are similar to an idler but have a spring-type mechanism to provide proper tension on the belt. TGS offers all types of pulleys designed and manufactured to run true and last for thousands of maintenance-free hours.

PRE-COMBUSTION CHAMBERS

Pre-combustion chambers are a low-cost component of an engine. During operation, they must endure extreme compression forces and temperatures. Over time, they tend to crack or become loose, causing serious damage to the cylinder head or block. TGS offers a full line of replacement pre-combustion chambers for Caterpillar® applications.

MANIFOLDS

TGS exhaust manifolds are made of top-quality cast iron and designed to flow more efficiently, delivering better engine performance. Over time, however, exhaust manifolds warp and develop cracks, leading to exhaust leaks and possibly exhaust fumes migrating into the operator’s cabin.

VALVE GUIDES

TGS offers valve guides that are readily available for many heavy equipment engine applications. Our high-quality valve guides are designed to allow for less wear, greater heat dissipation, heat resistance, and enhanced lubrication for the next generation of high-performance diesel engines. Old and worn valve guides can often cause consequential engine damage. Valve damage and sealing problems, which are signs of worn valve guides, include:
